This all began when I needed something to keep me busy in the summer. I work at our local Elementary School in the winter and have summers off. My summers have consisted of caring for children for as long as I can remember. I am a mother of 3, all of whom are now adults (Ages 25,22, and 20). We of course spent our summers beaching it and having kid fun. When they grew older and began having summer jobs I tried to recreate all the fun we had with other people's children by running a small summer camp. We had an aboveground pool and pool camp was the perfect thing for me to spend my days with kids having fun (after all it's what I knew best!) Well, then we needed to make a decision about our pool, after 17 years it was time to either replace it or be done with that chapter in our lives. We chose the latter. Our own children had certainly outgrown it and if we want to travel in our future it was simply feeling like one more thing to worry about when gone. So we did away with it. I did one more summer of camp with the kids, it proved to be too difficult without the pool, as some of the camp kids wanted to venture to the beach while others did not, the luxury of the pool was that kids could choose being in the water, playing in the yard, or doing arts and crafts near the pool, those options were now gone. I decided summer camp at our house was no longer an option. I needed something new. Something for me. Something that made me some money but was also fun! I stumbled upon some repurposing ideas and the idea of up cycling old things and making them into new items! I just loved the idea. I began to search ideas and tried my hand at some projects. I LOVED IT!!! I have been setting up a booth at our local Open Market in town on Sundays and have been successful so far. It has become a wonderful creative outlet for me. I've always been crafty and creative, just not in an "adult way" since my kids came along, working with glass and sealants isn't exactly child's play. This is perfect ~ I'm enjoying the "picking", thrifting and hunting for perfect pieces for my craft! I am loving the positive feedback from my customers and have expanded online now for sales. You'll hear lots more from me... but that's how it all started!! Welcome!
